Thank you for volunteering!

The Penticton Seniors’ Drop-In Centre is a non-profit society whose vision and mission are dedicated to meeting the needs of the seniors in our community by providing a welcoming, safe and affordable environment that encourages social interactions through involvement in activities and events. In order to provide the services and opportunities that we believe should be available, the Society depends on amazing volunteers who are committed to service and to advancing the goals of our society.

With busy lives, it can be hard to find time to volunteer. However, the benefits of volunteering are enormous to you and your community. Giving to others can also help protect your mental and physical health. The right match can help you reduce stress, combat depression, find friends, meet people with common interests, keep you mentally stimulated, learn new skills and provide a sense of purpose.

While it’s true that the more you volunteer, the more benefits you’ll experience, volunteering at the PSDIC doesn’t have to involve long term commitment or take a huge amount of time out of your week. Giving just an hour a week or volunteer to work at one event, helps tremendously. Giving in even simple ways can help others while improving your health and happiness.
